good evening all! as most of you are aware, it is cam belt change time for a lot of our winds, I thought it would be easy to get the gates' kit with everything included.....not so!!
I found the kit on ebay from a reputable seller, the picture for the kit was of a toothed belt, my wind has a micro v belt so I asked the seller if this picture was just a generic, the reply I got was 'yes' send us your reg and we will clarify with gates, the reply comes back 'yes'  we have the kit required, I then purchase said kit and wait excitedly for it to arrive. a couple of days later the kit arrived and I opened it up.......horrified!!!!!  Evil or Very Mad  Evil or Very Mad  Evil or Very Mad  they had sent the toothed belt!!! and looking at the tensioner, that was wrong too!! the water pump?? who knows!!
so now onto my plea for help, does anyone have a part number for the water pump? I have tried and tried to find it but it is nowhere to be found!! I have googled it, but there are so many variations that supposedly fit my wind!!
the good news is, I have the part numbers for the belt (7pk1035) and tensioner (t39011).
my wind is the 1.2 tce 100 e4mf version.

thanks for your help.

Can probably look up the Renault part number on Dialogys. Ever since I went to Windows 10 my Dialogys software has been playing up but I'll give it a go!

Re belts: All cam belts; & pulleys; must be toothed so the "v belt" you can see must be the auxilliary drive belt that drives the alternator & probably the air con pump.

The cam belt, water pump, & tensioner, are not visible until one removes the cam belt / timing cover at the "front" (I know it's transverse!!) of the engine.

Sorry: My Dialogys seems to have died.

Reckon I'll have to completely delete it & go back to square one setting up a virtual machine in an older version of Windows. A few hours work only to be undertaken when I am feeling very patient!!

Hopefully someone else can assist with that.

Part number t39011 seems to be related to the auxiliary belt not the cam/timing belt.

It is quite probable that they have sent you the correct parts for the cam belt.

thanks for your reply pittstop, so what i'm looking at in the picture is the aux belt? and the cam belt is behind that, deeper into the engine? if that makes sense! if so, i've just cost myself £6 sending back the RIGHT item!!  lol! lol!

Yes that's correct. The exposed belt in the picture is the auxiliary belt & the cam belt is behind that under it's cover.

The auxiliary belt & associated items have to come off before you can remove the cam belt cover to get at the cam belt, tensioner, & water pump. This is why it's such a labour intensive job although at least the 1.2 is less so than than the 1.6.

Over the years I've done cam belts & chains on earlier cars; the most modern being a transverse engined Escort XR3i; but on most more modern transverse engined cars; such as the Wind; the belts are far more difficult to access & I would no longer attempt such a job on my driveway.

As the auxiliary belt & tensioner have to come off to do the cam belt it is usual to do the whole lot in one go.

Thanks again pittstop, much appreciated! So you would recommend changing everything, cam belt, tensioner, water pump, aux belt and aux belt tensioner?
Thanks again for your help.

Definitely do it all at one go to avoid duplicating labour.

Once done all those items should not need re-doing for 6 yrs or 72000 miles according to Renault service schedules.
