Re: SundanceUk
Hi and thanks for the welcome.
I have joined the forum on behalf of my Girlfriend, Bex, a proud wind owner which we bought last year with only 6K on the clock.
Since I am the one with the toolkit, I have joined up for technical info so I can help keep her car on the road!
Already I have a new set of rear brake disks to fit, and the how to on this forum was most useful, so they should be going on next week.
My car BTW is a MG TF and I am a regular on the MG forums, and have come to realise how useful these discussion groups are to the DIY mechanic.
Bex loves her car and says its the best thing ever, and even I have to admit, its kinda cool!

Hi Sundance,
An MGTF? Nice.
Prior to getting the Wind I had two TFs.
A Trophy Yellow 2004 TF115 & later a Trophy Blue 2003 TF160. In between them I had a 2001 V6 Alfa Spider. Other past sports cars included: two MGBs; 3 Triumph TR7s & a Merc SLK!
I was also a regular on a TF forum where there was a great exchange of technical info.
I found that the proportion of owners on the TF forum into DIY mechanics was higher than on the Wind forum but the Winders definitely seem a friendly bunch who enjoy their motoring.
We have done much European holidaying in the TFs & the Alfa.
As we are now getting on a bit; but wanted to continue the European trips; we needed a fun two seat convertible that had more refinements such as: air con; less noise; softer suspension; better seats; etc; etc. After much research we went for a 1.6 GT Line Wind. We have not been disappointed & the Wind has now become our European tourer for the foreseeable future. It's almost as much fun to drive; although I do prefer RWD handling; whilst being more refined on a long run plus the benefit of a really useable boot to carry our Zimmer Frames (only joking!!)
Happy Motoring to you both.
