Sat nav help needed

I know this is not Technical car related but.... Our Adventure I tried to see if my Sat Nav had French maps.... It does. Phew but I can't put in the Town I want to visit. It displays some list that doesn't make sense to me. Anyone know what to do? Please

France is divided into departments.  Each town has a post code (5 figures) starting with the department number (first two digits).

So, you know that Calais (62100) is in dept 62, or Nord Pas De Calais.

Blois is 41000 or 41018 (from a Google search).

Tried that it didn't work. Looks like I need to doa Garmin update.

I can't see the problem (with mine).

Select postcode, put in the post code (all digits).  Then it asks you for the street, and finally the house number.

I will try again. It shows the maps and it shows routes maybe mine has only limited details. Will try an update. I have Waze on my phone but the little people that pop up on it I find distracting.lol

You can turn those off in the settings barbs

Go to settings > display settings > show on map > turn off Wazers and Road goodies
