Lubrication of roof seals
Now I have started having the roof down it has started creaking when closed (going over bumps etc). Planning on lubricating the roof seals to see if this will help, has anybody got any got any recommendations on what would be best to use?

Don't go over bumps.... ha ha.
I used silicon grease on the catches that seems to sort most noises.

Thanks Barbs, I'll try to avoid the bumps. I've put some silicone spray on the seals and that seems to have helped, will try and lube the catches later today.

Re: Lubrication of roof seals
For rain water drips across seals, it is worth using silicon grease.
I am using silicon grease on the door seals and roof seals and catches now. It works better on seals than sprays, once the car gets a bit older, it conditions the seals and keeps out rain water drips.
I have used RS components 494-124 silicon grease for years on all my previous convertibles, and a tube costs a fiver (see website). Just smear it on lightly with a finger, dab it on more heavily where needed.
You can also get silicon grease at plumbers merchant shops.
One downside is watch your clothing does not touch the stuff, going in or out the car, or buy grease proof clothingÂ
Or just watch where you apply itÂ
